These 8 homes were developed by Habitat for Humanity of DC and Northern VA in conjunction with Douglass Community Land Trust. There are eligibility requirements for this land trust for purchasers including household size (3-7 members) and income limits (30-60% MFI). The home has an open concept with ample natural light. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and a breakfast bar. On the upper level are 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, including a primary bedroom with ensuite bathroom. The unfinished lower level walks out to the rear yard, and is already plumbed for a bathroom. The lower level includes a washer and dryer. The low-maintenance brick and hardi-board exteriors ensure durability. This community was made possible in part by a partnership with Douglass Community Land Trust. That means that the underlying land will belong to the Land Trust, and the home itself will belong to the homeowner. This allows the home to cost less and remain affordable while the homeowner can still gain equity from the sale of the home. Tours are available by appointment for qualified prospective purchasers.
